provide you with some focus on particular features of the room around
you. The torch sheds light on things and enables you to see them more
clearly – it brings your focus to them.
Affirmations are like this torch. They provide the focus and
concentrated light, or attention, onto what you want to see, or have.
What
you focus on or think about, you attract - even if this is negative.
For example, if you think about bad health and how poorly you think you
are feeling, you will attract poor health.
It can be hard to
dismiss negative thoughts from your mind. You might have to fight hard
to dislodge them. Affirmations are statements of determination. Be
determined when saying your Affirmations. You are in charge after all.
Repeat them often – especially when negative thoughts drift into your
mind.
Affirmations can modify the way your subconscious mind
works. Even when you feel things are hopeless, the spoken word can begin
the healing. If you repeat a favorite affirmation, like a mantra, over
and over and over again, crowding out all negative thoughts, and
filling your mind with only one thought of conviction, you are doing
something that is extremely effective in promoting change. You are
reprogramming your mind.
Repeat positive Affirmations to yourself as often as possible. Always make them positive and as if they had already happened.

Affirmations can mould the way you think about yourself, restoring and
raising your self esteem, and making you a magnet for others, and for

Affirmations and positive thinking work by attracting energy and focusing it with the subconscious mind to manifest change. Many of us use a negative terminology such as ‘ I am fat and unattractive’, ‘I don’t deserve to be happy’, ‘I can't do that,’ ‘I am a failure’, ‘I’m plagued by bad luck’, ‘I’ll never be happy’. These negative thoughts begin to infiltrate our subconscious minds and become a reality. Many of the difficulties in our lives come from our negative beliefs about others and ourselves.

When you affirm, you are in effect sending out to the Universe a declaration or command. And although it may seem that only you are hearing the words, this is not so. These words go out to the Universe. This is the Law of Attraction.
Affirming works on many different levels. Affirming can affect your own and other people's conscious and unconscious levels. If you affirm and it involves others, you are in a way communicating with another person's higher self.
This is when things really start to happen, and results come quickly. The power of positive thinking and affirming is only limited by your personal conviction and belief that the affirmations are working. If the affirmations are only done half-heartedly, those are the results that will be received. But if you believe completely in achieving the aspiration stated in the affirmation, then it is almost sure to be achieved.

An
affirmation is a positive personal statement designed to modify
negative beliefs and expectations, and motivate and influence us in new
directions.
Affirmations are emotionally driven statements of your intentions, and the faith that guides your thoughts and actions.
These
statements can be powerfully effective for developing and strengthening
your thought patterns, and as a consequence, the actions you need to
take in order to achieve what you want in life. Affirmations, and the
thought patterns that they produce within you, will irresistibly attract
that which you affirm to be true.
More than anything at this
stage, affirmations can bring you life changes quickly and
dramatically. They can change your personality, change your view of the
world, and bring new opportunities into your life.
You can
actually program yourself to be more successful, happy, and more
financially secure by simply planting positive thoughts into your mind,
and repeating them often.
Many people believe that affirmations work on several levels.
Firstly
they work on the level of your conscious mind. You hear positive
statements about yourself and your personality and the life you want or
have and this helps dislodge any negativity in your attitudes and
beliefs.
There is another level, an almost magical level - they also work on your subconscious mind.
By
daily affirming the existence of the life that you want, including the
person you want to be, your subconscious will act on these positive
statements and work towards you achieving what you want in life.
This
higher level is the magical level. Because when you perform your
affirmations, you are actually making a declaration to the Universe.
These statements or commands go out into the universe and affect not
only your own conscious and unconscious levels, but other people's as
well. Other people will see the change in you Affirmations that involve
others are really communications to everyone.
There are things
within you that are blocking the Universe from delivering your goals to
you. These things are vagueness, negativity, stress and a lack of
belief in your own power and ability to achieve what you want.
Affirmations will help you clear this blockage.
To be effective,
affirmations must be made with conviction and belief. The more
conviction and belief, the greater the power they will have. The
manifestation of opportunities and ideas will be the natural and assured
consequence of positive, effective affirmations expressed with
conviction, belief and heightened emotion.
Half-hearted affirmations, delivered without conviction, will produce half-hearted results, or no results at all.
To be effective, Affirmations must be positive, expressed in the present
tense, and be a statement of your desires. They must be expressed with
conviction and belief, as if each statement was already a reality.
They must be expressed deliberately, and with the emotion and feelings
we would experience if each statement had already manifested. Belief,
imagery, and emotion are essential elements in effective Affirmations.
All
your Affirmations must be created. To create useful and effective
Affirmations you will write them down. They will be a representation of
what you want in your life and they can be representations of material
things, or things that relate to your character and personality. It is
these written words that will be the emotionally driven statements of
your intentions.
The process of performing your Affirmations will involve three stages.
The
first stage will appropriate the necessary state of mind for
effectively impressing your Affirmations on your subconscious. This
will connect you with your inner power, reducing the critical faculty of
your conscious mind. This will enable your creative power, which is
the power to effect the desired changes in your life.
Your first
Affirmation should be such that it invokes this state of mind. It will
be a general statement that affirms and aligns yourself with a spiritual
truth – your desire to experience in reality what you are already
experiencing in your imagination.
Examples of this style of Affirmation:
• I am now achieving everything I want in my life
• All that I need and desire is now and forever supplied to me
• I am now and forever enjoying perfect health
Your first Affirmation should be repeated, mantra style, at least thirty times.
The
second stage in the performance of your Affirmations will be repeating
statements relating to specific goals. These must be stated in positive
terms – what you want rather than what you don’t want. They must be in
the present tense as if they were already manifest in your life.
Your goal-specific affirmations should begin with such words as:
I am, or
I am becoming, or
I have.
Your goal-specific Affirmations must be – specific. State how much, and what type.
When
invoking your subconscious mind to help you achieve what you want in
your life, it will follow the path of least resistance. What you state
as your statements of fact in your Affirmations will come to you in a
way that is easiest according to your beliefs and expectations. Do not
be concerned with “how”, there are many more ways of getting what we
desire than we are aware of. We can leave this element to our
subconscious mind to achieve our goals and dreams.
The only limit
to the number of Affirmations you create is the time you have available
to perform them. You should repeat your Affirmations as often as
possible each day. 20 times each per day is good!
The final
stage in the performance of your Affirmations will be the expression of
acceptance and gratitude for the abundance of everything that you have.
Examples of these types of Affirmation include:
• I am so grateful because I am now financially secure forever
• I am so grateful because I now enjoy perfect health
You should repeat your final Affirmation at least 30 times each day.
The final act is to state a profound and consolidating Affirmation, simply:

…knowing that what you asked for will most definitely manifest in your life according to your beliefs and expectations.
You
should spend some time each day performing your Affirmations as
described here. Allow yourself a specific time and a specific place if
you can. But do not worry; you can repeat your Affirmations as often
and wherever you can. Remember there are no barriers to your
achievement – you will achieve what you want in your life.
You
may feel inclined to take certain actions after you have performed your
Affirmations for a number of weeks. These actions will be opportunities
